Tammie Coleman Epps is the manager of Media Relations and Social Media for Prisma Health, a not-for-profit health company and the largest healthcare system in South Carolina, with nearly 30,000 team members, 18 hospitals, 2,947 beds, and more than 300 outpatient sites.
She has more than 29 years of experience in health care communications and reputation management specializing in strategic media relations planning, execution, and its integration with social media platforms. In her role, she ensures that Prisma Health’s reputation is protected during times of crisis by leading crisis communications planning and response. She played a major role in the communications effort for the health system’s COVID-19 response as the Public Information Officer.
Tammie has a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from Winthrop University and a master’s degree in Communications Management from Webster University. She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Reggie for 28 years and they have one son, Rex who is an All-American soccer player and recent graduate of the University of Cincinnati.
Tammie has served on several boards in her career including being past regional director of the International Association of Business Communicators. She is currently active in Leadership Columbia Board of Directors, Brookland Baptist Church, and the Richland County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. As a licensed Zumba instructor for ten years, she teaches weekly classes to stay fit and relieve stress.
