Responsible for content creation/design and management of all social media accounts to include daily management of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn; plan, schedule, publish and analyze content posted to college accounts; monitor discussion, posts and comments across all platforms with an eye for issues management as well as prime opportunities to engage; attend events/seek out opportunities for coverage on social media throughout the college; brainstorm content ideas and pursue ideas based on data strategy and platform best practices; expand/look for new opportunities on platforms not currently used.

Management of website to include weekly maintenance (edits, updates, additions, and corrections of website); write 2-3 feature news articles each month; and visual updates adhering to USC branding policies. Develops and designs college and alumni monthly e-newsletter (outlines and content). Responsible for tracking analytics and managing subscribers.

Provides strategic support for design/marketing activities to include assisting with communication initiatives throughout the college, flyers, invitations, digital ads, and promotional giveaways. Coordinates external media/press. Represent the College of Nursing at university and central communications meetings and events. Assist with the placement of advertisements and marketing campaigns. Assist with college environmental projects.

Creates audio visual content of college programs and activities. Responsible for all film, edit and production of b-roll, promotional and event footage. Works with IT for technical support of live streaming video venue events.

This position is the lead designer of the marketing team and responsible for the maintenance of the Columbia College brand, ensuring that all deliverables follow the brand guidelines. This position is one of the critical components of the marketing team and must have the ability to design and produce quality print materials and digital graphics; responsible for the design, editing, and creation of graphics, print materials, digital advertising designs, and other visuals as needed for the College, including but not limited to projects for internal and external communication; and performs related duties as assigned. This class works within a general outline of work to be performed and develops work methods and sequences under general supervision. This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications and serves as the point person for any print/digital assets that helps promote the College.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Designs various print and digital products that promote the College and adhere to the Columbia College brand.
  • Creates design deliverable timeline and reviews completed work for formatting, accuracy, and general appearance.
  • Defines deliverable requirements with the appropriate contact (marketing team member or college colleague).
  • Calculates project cost estimates.
  • Establishes and maintains a consistent brand image throughout all marketing materials.
  • Oversees the day-to-day workflow of all design projects, prioritizing and assigning projects as needed.
  • Oversees the bidding and negotiation process with external vendors for all design deliverables.
  • Provides guidance and leadership on design work.
  • Prioritizes, tracks, handles, and maintains records of multiple projects.
  • Approves all proofs of print material before final production.
  • Hires temporary or contract help as needed.
  • Attends training as required to maintain job knowledge and skills.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Promotes blended learning solutions and the use of innovative technology and tools to meet business goals of developing a high-performing workforce. Produces web-enabled e-learning, traditional educational materials, or a blended solution using leading-edge technology.
 

What You Will Do:

Uses advanced technologies to design/develop/deploy e-learning solutions via web applications. Produces high-quality online learning modules that interface with a learning management system. Creates content and applies design/graphic principles to educational materials for traditional learning and/or blended solutions. Designs and updates e-learning using unique combinations of cutting-edge interactive media, state-of-the-art techniques, electronic tools and systems. Evaluate and revise materials based on the effectiveness of training programs and curriculum.

Test, problem-solves, updates and maintains e-learning, traditional and/or blended learning solutions. Works closely with support staff and customer to ensure working functionality between e-learning materials, learning management systems, and intranet or internet sites. Work with Technical Support Staff to troubleshoot computer and software issues.

Assists with the design of needs assessments, the development of processes, and the evaluation of program effectiveness. Creates data management tools to assist in the continuous improvement of training products and services. Performs duties that may include customer conference calls, planning meetings, action items, professional development seminars, tasks related to certification, training others and/or special projects.

Assume project management responsibilities for both internal and external clients/customers, related to e-learning training program design, development, and deliverables.

The University of South Carolina is seeking an Advertising Director. The advertising director is responsible for overseeing, advising, and supervising the operation of a student sales office, which is responsible for generating approximately $300,000 in advertising revenue. The director will work with the assistant director of student media to assist in the management of a student-run marketing and public relations team. In addition to a base salary, there is an opportunity to earn a commission on revenue generated.
 
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Establish revenue goals for the academic year and monitor industry trends and evaluate current line profitability and effectiveness
