The month of February is turning into a big month for the AAF of the Midlands, filled with a great monthly luncheon and many other club initiatives coming together.

The first I want to highlight is the Public Service program and applications. Our club chooses one non- profit each year to help. Applications may be found on our website and are due by February, 5, 2010. Please contact Skot Garrick at
sgarrick@sc.rr.com with any questions.

The second is a new event in conjunction with our diversity initiative of supporting summer internships in the field of advertising. This year we will be holding a kick-off event called Mad about Madison Avenue where minority high school junior and seniors will get exposure to the different aspects of advertising directly from professionals in the field.

This one-day event is scheduled for Saturday, February 27 from 10 am to 1:30 pm at the USC School of Mass Communications. After students rotate through professional speakers they will leave with our summer internship packet that includes information on internship scholarships.

February also marks the official month of love. Love for Twitternis that is come join us for our next luncheon where we will discuss how to mix the perfect New Media Twittertini which is a delicious recipe of equal parts entertainment, informative insights, warm conversation, creativity and a dash of crazy.
